More than just the first year

When you choose a primary school, you’re choosing somewhere that could be part of your family’s life for the next seven years.

At Charles Darwin, we want children to leave us at the end of Year 6 as confident, curious and caring young people who are ready for the next stage of their journey.

Our Reception team works closely with our Year 1 staff to help make the move into school as positive and familiar as possible.

Is my child due to start school in September 2027?

Children starting Reception in September 2027 will usually have been born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023.

Applications for Reception places are made through your local authority rather than directly to the school.
