Parents
Welcome to the dedicated parent and carer section of the Charles Darwin Community Primary School website. Here you will find term dates, information on how to help your child at home, what parent / carer courses are available and much more!
We pride ourselves on the community strength of our school and our partnership with parents and carers is at the hub of this.
Charles Darwin has a superb and dedicated Friends Of The School Association which raises a huge amount of money for our children as well as providing wide ranging fun and educational activities for all ages. If you would like to join OSCA, help out with any events or simply want to know more please visit their page on this website.
As well as OSCA I am delighted that we have an ever growing band of regular helpers in school each day. These parents do an invaluable job of supporting our children and school staff in many ways. We are grateful to all members of the school community who are able to volunteer so if you can spare any time at all no matter how little please do not hesitate to get in touch. I am also pleased to report that we now have a dedicated community room for helpers, so you can have refreshments and a break away from the classroom during your time with us.
As well as welcoming volunteers to the school we also have a commitment to helping our parents to help themselves and their children. In addition to leading our own wide ranging in-house curriculum workshops for parents we are proud to be a partner school for the Family Learning Allliance. This free organisation provides a wide range of opportunities for parents based at our school. Please get in touch if you want further information.
If you would like any further information about any aspect of our parent school, are interested in helping out in any way or contributing to the life of the school please do not hesitate to get in touch, I would be delighted to hear from you.
Best wishes
Marianne Bennett
