Reception 2020 - 2021
Miss Tilley
Mrs Wood
Mrs Mullane
In Reception we have 3 teachers - Miss Tilley who teaches Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning, Mrs Mullane who teaches Wednesday afternoon,Thursday and Friday and Mrs Wood is full time. We are supported by 2 amazing full time Teaching Assistants, Mrs Killilea and Miss Ollerhead. Miss Jones also supports Reception children with Speech and Langauge development.
At Charles Darwin Community Primary School we provide a safe, happy and nurturing learning environment. In the Early Years Foundation Stage children are developing positive attitudes for future learning. Our activities are carefully planned to encourage children to become independent and active learners by playing, investigating, exploring and creating.
In both our learning environments in the classroom and outside, we meet the individual needs and interests of all our children by providing a balance between child initiated learning under the guidance of our staff and activities that are planned and led by an adult.
The Reception team plan the learning opportunities through half termly topics. Our learning activities are planned in both the outdoor and the classroom environments. Your child also helps to plan the activities by completing a PLOD (Possible Lines of Development) each week with the staff and they think of activities and ideas that they would like to do.
