This Week

Welcome back to school! The children have settled in really quickly and are working hard already. This week house points were won by Finches.

On Monday Year 1 will be visiting Marshall's Arm. Wellies and waterproofs and a spare pair of shoes please.

On Wednesday we would like to welcome parents into school for a first aid course – please see separate mail for further information. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about how to treat minor injuries in the home.

Our school nurse has a drop in session on Wednesday morning from 8.30 until 10.00.

There is a Bike Right session for Year 5 on Thursday. You will receive an email if your child is on the course.

Finally on Friday we return to our class assemblies. This week is the turn of Mrs Holden’s Year 1 class. Families are welcome to attend and join the children in the classroom afterwards to show off their work.

Good morning! It's not quite the sunny weather today that we have got so used to. No early morning run for me. I'm going to go out when I get home from school later. Hope you are all able to keep up with your exercise. It definitely makes you feel better!

Just a little note on Century. I have put the new topics on for maths and science. As you know, there is an assessment at the beginning to see what you know already. Then the computer works out what you need help with. Please make sure you watch the help videos carefully. They are in place of my teaching and your work on whiteboards that we do on the carpet. I know it's not quite the same but watch them and you will learn lots. When you then do the activities, remember that you will make mistakes. Everyone does. Just like in class (and in life), we don't get everything right, but then we do try to learn from our mistakes.
